Common Cents Raises $29,500 For Big Brothers Big Sisters
of the Black Hills During Bowl for Kids Sake 2010
Common
Cents was again a major sponsor for the Black Hills Area Big Brothers
and Big Sisters annual Bowl-a-thon. This year the happening place
on April 30th was at Meadowood bowling alley for The Annual Bowl
for Kids Sake, which benefits Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the
Black Hills. The entire Team at Common Cents came through once again
collecting pledges totaling $29,500. It was great to have everyone
participating and I was impressed with the outstanding pledge totals.
Gillette will receive the honors with the largest pledge total
of $9002. Omaha Street raised over $3000 and LaCrosse raised over
$2000. Abby Bridges raised $2255 and Pat Mellon raised $2470 as
the top two individual. Big
Brothers Big Sisters is the oldest, largest and most effective
youth mentoring organization in the United States. They have been
the leader in one-to-one youth service for more than a century,
developing positive relationships that have a direct and lasting
impact on the lives of young people. Big Brothers Big Sisters mentors
children, ages 6 through 18, in communities across the country -
including yours.
The Big Brothers Big Sisters Mission is to help children reach
their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships
with mentors that have a measurable impact on youth.
It isn't easy being a kid these days. In these complex and confusing
times, children need a caring adult to be a mentor and a friend
- someone they can talk to, have fun with, and learn from.
Thanks to all of you, we can help make a difference.
