2006 Common Cents Charity Golf Tournament Raises $42,000!
Another year, another record! For the 6th year
in a row, the Common Cents Charity Golf Tournament and store customer
donation campaign has raised a record amount. Because of the generosity
of our customers and suppliers, coupled with some outstanding efforts
by our store staffs, we raised over $42,000 to benefit the 6 Shriners
Patient Transportation Funds in our 5-state trade area.
Our annual golf tournament hosted 106 golfers
comprising 27 teams of Common Cents employees, our suppliers and
members of Naja Shriners at the Golf Course at Red Rock in Rapid
City, SD. Hats off to the staff at Red Rock as the course was in
outstanding condition and all competitors enjoyed an afternoon of
fun raising a record net amount of $19,000.
But I am most proud of the overall group support
of our store staffs during our month long customer donation campaign.
Wendy Kenourgios and her staff at store #256 in Salt Lake City,
UT again was the top store raising $3453! It was a real good horse
race as she was closely followed by Christy Harrison and staff at
store #252 in Ogden, UT with $3,000; Trevor Pett and staff at store
#124 in Gillette, WY with $2842; and Kelly Miller and staff at store
#252 with $2232. A huge pat on the back to Mike Bendt, District
Manager of UT as his 6 stores raised a total of $9737, that's 42%
of the total of $23,000 raised in our stores.
Thank you again for everyone's support in raising
over $42,000 to ensure that Shriners
can continue to transport our local children free of charge to Shriner's
Hospitals nationwide.
