Who would have thought that it was possible to raise a record amount of money for charity during a pandemic?

Common Cents . . . That’s Who!!!

Our annual Common Cents Charity Golf Tournament again supported Shriners in the 5 states that we operate.I am pleased to report that because of all of our efforts, we raised an all-time record amount of $95,000 to support Shriners during a year when they needed our help the most.

Although because of Covid 19, this year’s tournament hosted 25% less players than previous events, the total money raised was a record amount of $41,000 after all expenses.

Players got a chance for some good old fashioned fun and comradery on and off of the golf course with some good food thrown in as well.

Additional Event Information

Now to the real story . . . Our store team members really got behind the customer donation part during the last couple of weeks of July through August.

What started out as a spare change donation campaign quickly turned into a committed front to raise money to support Shriners. The great thing is that this money stays right in the community that it was donated.

This year, our teams raised $54,000 lead by Store 111 at $7,059 and Store 153 with $6,649.These both are all time donation records. As Holly from 111 told me, you have to hear NO a lot to get to $7,000!Jenice at 153 said that she really stress that it was import to support Shriners this year as Covid 19 caused them to cancel all of their fund raising events for the year.

Several stores raised over or near $3,000 lead by 155 at $3,500 and 252 at $3,400.

I don’t have enough print space to brag about the rest of you individually so I will just say, WAY TO GO EVERYONE!
